For the producers suffering from the harmful rumors, I was wondering what I could do with the theme of "eating". I wanted children to be proud of their lives in Fukushima. I didn't want them to see their parents with their faces looking downwards. These were the reasons why I started "Soma Taberu Tsushin".
You cannot love where you live without loving the food from where you live. In every issue, we introduce the lifestyle of a food producer. They have experienced a lot of sadness and toughness in The East Japan Disaster and nuclear damage. Even after these events, they stood up again and committed to producing their products. We are sure that we are sending out the power and strength of Soma by introducing them through our magazine.
Even though our community configured with about 200 readers is small, the children should be proud of Soma when they see the people who sympathize from foreign countries and distant locations. We stayed in Soma during the explosion of the nuclear plant and during the search through rubble for bodies. Even as I faced the crossroads of whether to live or die, why did I stay in Soma? The answer is because I love Soma. I do not care if I die, I still want to live here and do not want to live in any other place. I believe the power to overcome the nuclear damage corresponds to our love for Soma.
